Horses have played an important role in the history of The Meadows Ranch. The word “Remuda” refers to the group of horses used to give rest and provide a fresh start for the journey ahead.

Back before The Meadows Ranch was an eating disorder treatment program, it was a dude ranch. Horses helped ranch guests get a fresh start along the dusty desert trails; today, these extraordinary creatures help women and girls get a fresh start along the road to recovery from eating disorders.
