Eating Disorder Treatment And Recovery
For 25 years, The Meadows Ranch has been helping women and girls recover from eating disorders. We understand the pain that an eating disorder can bring to not only the one suffering first hand, but also their loved ones. Our experienced staff is here to help you or your loved one along the road of recovery.
Our treatment is led by a well-qualified multidisciplinary team that is dedicated to providing assistance and support 24 hours a day to help patients achieve medical stabilization and support them in the following stages of recovery. Our treatment team includes a psychiatric specialist, a primary care provider, a registered dietitian, a licensed master’s or doctoral level therapist, a psychologist, and round-the-clock nursing support.
Levels of Care
We offer a comprehensive continuum of care with our acute, residential inpatient and partial inpatient units. We can help patients who are struggling with malnutrition at the acute stage of their eating disorder, as well as those who are ready for a more moderate level of care. We combine effective utilization of re-feeding to help accelerate necessary weight gain along with ongoing nutritional education to help patients to learn how to eat and develop a healthy relationship with food.
Our family therapy is presented from a skills-based approach throughout the program and includes an onsite Family Week. We teach patients and their families how to understand one another by using effective communication. Through real-time webinars, we welcome our patients’ families into the process even before treatment officially begins.
Teaching Practical Skills
We believe in providing patients with skills they need for life after treatment. We teach our patients how to purchase, store, prepare, cook, and serve properly portioned and nutritious meals. And, we have therapists and dietitians sit with patients at every meal to provide supervision and encouragement.
Our expansive array of experiential healing modalities includes equine-assisted psychotherapy, challenge courses, expressive arts, mindfulness techniques and trauma-informed psychodrama, along with EMDR and Somatic Experiencing.
