At The Meadows Ranch, we know that no one would choose binge eating. It is the result of brain chemistry imbalance and triggered by stress. Our program focuses on healing the underlying pieces of the puzzle so that you can find relief. This is not a weight loss program even though our residents often do lose weight.
Help for Binge Eating Disorder
Our multi-disciplinary treatment team will work together to develop a treatment plan specifically for you. This includes individual meetings with a psychiatrist and primary care provider. You’ll have access to dietitians and therapists who all specialize in treating eating disorders and group activities with other residents with eating disorders, such as:
- Equine-assisted therapy
- Supportive meals
- Expressive therapies
- Somatic experiencing
- Other therapies may also be recommended and provided.
Inpatient Binge Eating Disorder Treatment
An effective treatment program for binge eating disorder should address more than just your symptoms and destructive eating habits. It should also address the causes of the problem—the emotional triggers that lead to binge eating and your difficulty coping with stress, anxiety, fear, sadness and other uncomfortable emotions.
Break the Binge Eating Cycle
Recovery from binge eating disorder is possible. Women and girls come to us after years of living in conflict with food. After breaking the cycle of the binge eating behaviors and learning new skills and tools, they can return to life with a new, healthy relationship with food.
