Family therapy is an indispensable part of recovery from an eating disorder at any age, and integration of family is an essential part of the ground-breaking family program at The Meadows Ranch.
Throughout their loved one’s treatment, our experienced staff maintains contact with the family, preparing them and the patient for the challenges of returning home and preventing unwanted relapse. We also offer weekly family sessions on-site or via Skype for those who cannot travel to our Wickenburg campus. Family members join their loved one approximately halfway through treatment during our Family Week Experiential. This includes psychoeducational groups, skill groups, and experiences (on and off campus) geared toward recovery of the entire family system and not just the person in treatment.
This is a time of learning, growth, change, and forgiveness for everyone. It ensures the transition back to daily life is successful.
Eating Disorder Treatment
The Meadows Ranch combines evidence-based theories of teaching coping and containment skills to do the more in-depth work to get at the source of the eating disorder so that a person can make a long-lasting recovery-based change.
